  • Co-founder & Managing Partner

    Michael brings over a decade of experience in technology, finance, and business strategy. He began his career in venture capital in 2013, specializing in SaaS and FinTech early-stage companies, and supported the establishment of the Waterloo Innovation Network (WIN) incubator. He then founded Forest Hill Capital, an investment fund focused on acquiring and developing multifamily real estate in Canada.

    Beyond his entrepreneurial ventures, Michael has held senior financial and strategic advisory roles at Check Point (NASDAQ: CHKP), one of the world’s largest cybersecurity companies. There, he was influential in shaping the company’s $3B global go-to-market strategy and spearheading initiatives to drive revenue growth to $5B.

    Michael holds a B.A. from the Hebrew University, has completed coursework at Harvard, and is currently pursuing an MBA at Columbia. He resides in New York City.

  • Co-founder & Managing Partner

    Andy brings over 15 years of experience across investment banking, public and private investing, and early-stage advisory. He began his career as a sell-side equity analyst in Frankfurt and New York, advising institutional clients on IPOs and capital raises. Today, he manages a public equities fund focused on long-term growth and actively invests in private markets.

    As an advisor to early-stage teams, Andy partners with founders to build scalable financial operations and lead capital strategy and fundraising. His expertise includes budgeting and forecasting, financial modeling, M&A execution, KPI and unit economics design, investor communication, and board-level engagement. Andy is particularly experienced in helping international startups expand into the U.S. market, navigate investor expectations, and establish the financial foundations needed for sustainable growth.

    He holds a B.B.A. from Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and an MBA from Columbia. Andy is based in New York City.

  • VP, APAC & M&A

    Naoto brings nearly a decade of experience in investment banking, cross-border M&A, and startup advisory across Japan and the United States. He began his career at Nomura Securities (NYSE: NMR) in Tokyo, where he advised clients in the consumer and retail sectors on IPOs, M&A, capital raising, and corporate restructuring. He later relocated to New York, where he led business development in the healthcare and startup sectors, specializing in advising venture-backed startups and biotech VCs.

    Throughout his career, Naoto has led numerous cross-border transactions between North America and Asia and has built extensive startup and VC networks in both Japan and the United States.


    He holds a B.A. in Economics from Kyoto University and is currently pursuing his MBA at Columbia. He resides in New York City.

  • Principal Advisor

    Professor Oded Netzer is a Vice Dean at Columbia Business School and a world-renowned expert in data-driven decision making, customer analytics, and quantitative marketing strategy. His research focuses on building statistical and econometric models to understand consumer behavior and guide business decisions—ranging from dynamic customer segmentation to the use of unstructured data for strategic insights. Most notably, he has developed a framework for managing firms' customer bases through dynamic segmentation.

    Oded is the author of Decisions Over Decimals and has published extensively in top academic journals. His work has earned multiple awards, including the ISMS Long-term Contribution Award, the John Little Best Paper Award, the Frank Bass Outstanding Dissertation Award, the Society for Consumer Psychology (SCP) Best Paper Award, and the George S. Eccles Research Fund Award.

    Oded is a contributing scholar at Amazon and consults widely for startups and Fortune 500 companies. He is based in New York City.

    Professor Mattan Griffel is a serial entrepreneur and two-time Y- Combinator-backed founder, having raised over $75 million in equity financing across his ventures. He was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 and is the co-author of Python for MBAs.

    In addition to his entrepreneurial work, Mattan is an award-winning faculty member at Columbia Business School and an Innovation Fellow at the Lang Center for Entrepreneurship, where he teaches courses on product strategy, technical fluency, and entrepreneurship.
    As an advisor and investor, Mattan supports early-stage founders and executives on growth, product development, and scaling operations. He has consulted for companies including Goldman Sachs, Bloomberg, Condé Nast, and American Express, and his work has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, BusinessWeek, and MIT Technology Review.

  • Dr. Jorge Guzman is an associate professor at the Management Division in Columbia Business School. Jorge received his Ph.D from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusettts Institute of Technology (MIT), and was previously a postdoc at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and a lecturer at the MIT Sloan School of Management. His research focuses on entrepreneurship policy, regional entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurial strategy. He was previously involved in the Boston startup ecosystem, and has been an advisor to numerous startups, and to regional and national policy agencies on the design of entrepreneurship ecosystems.
